Back to Lasty
As we seem to be the only two on here i'll stick to an Alan theme today.
Lasty is having a pretty good season with the bat scoring 228 runs so far at an average of 14.25
He has batted 11 times as an opener and 9 times elsewhere.
When opening he has scored 180 runs at an average of 18.00 and elsewhere has scored 48 at an average of 8.
It would seem that 'platform building' suits him but will he have the job next year and with Rob leaving who will he partner?
Seeing Alan's success will some other Doms who have been batting down the order in recent years fancy a go at the sharp end?

Steroids for Chickin!!!
As i said in response to Lasty we haven't played enough away fixtures to warrant looking at the difference between home and away fixtures - hang on a few games and i will do them!
As an example you have only played in 4 away fixtures scoring 16* 12 and 4* in your innings giving you an average of 32 but a high score of only 16 - a waste of time as a stat.
Of more interest to you - and especially to your Captains - is your completely different stats for 20 over games and 40 games
In your 11 20 over innings you have managed 219 runs at a very respectable 27.38. However in your 12 40 over innings you have only managed 85 runs at an average of 7.73 which in a normal Sunday batting line up would have you batting at nine!
Your keeping stats are also very different - 3 catches and 9 stumpings in 20 over games with 10 catches and 2 stumpings in the longer format.
Ponder that lot while you are waiting Poulet old boy!

Who are the important players?
The Doms have won just under 56% of completed matches this season and as you might expect most of the regular Doms players have individual records pretty similar to this (most are in the 54%-60% range) but a few are well ahead of the game.
Tom Hickin has an overall record of 68% including a perfect 9 wins out of 9 in 40 over games.
Alex Rich has an overall record of 77%. He has a 10-1 record in the 40 over game and whilst most Doms have a losing record in midweek games he has a 7-4 record. The Doms have only won two games this season without our young talisman!
Or is there something else at work here! Further down the list we find Stuart Rich who has only played 6 games this season but has finished on the winning side every time! Could it be that the Rich boys cleverly pick and choose their fixtures to play in!
Anyway at least two and maybe all three will be heading to Moseley on Sunday so Rob should have no problems winning his final match!

As the season draws to a close-
so the race to be the top wicket taker and run scorer hots up. John Hodgson is looking fairly safe at the top of the batting list but the bowling is still too close to call. Leader Adie will be hoping the rain stays away as her three closest rivals are all missing on Sunday!

my prediction..
Adie just pips Mark for the bowling, Hodgy is taken to the wire by Stato and Pedro to scrape through with most catches...........
What will the Captain do!
Mark's back soon - I reckon he will open with himself and Colin before throwing the ball to Hodgy and Phil with K man and Stu called upon to make up the fifth bowler. Perhaps Chickin will find himself at deep third man!

Re: Stat of the day - August
Todays total of 89a/o is the first time this season that the Doms have been bowled out for less than 100 and is the worst total posted in a 40 over match since our hammering by Bloxwich CC in May 2009 when we managed a lowly 79 a/o.

Moving up
Mark Hunt has moved into 6th place on the all time wicket taking list with 171 wickets going past Mark Oley on 170. Next in his sights is John Vickers on 199.
Tom Perry will be hoping to become the 13th Dom to take 100 wickets - he is currently on 98.

LBW
Tom Perry has not been given out LBW since his second match for the Doms (against tomorrows opponents Coftonians) on 11th May 2005 - 87 games ago.
Does he not get into line, does he have excellent technique or are the umpires too scared to raise the finger?

He..
plays down the wrong line quite often falling forwards keeping his legs out of the way of the ball (hates the ball hurting his legs) and getting bowled rather than LBW - technique problems...
