Stat of the day - August
Got some catching up to do!
As we know Mark Oley's epic innings has been wiped from the record book leaving only one record remaining from that game. The record 8th wkt partnership is still intact and infact the top five are all at least 13 years old!
59 - Mark Oley & Bob Dyke -v- Romsley & Hunnington CC at Hayley Green CC in 1997
53 - Chris Biggs & John Anstey -v- Hollymoor at Cofton Park in 1992
40 - John Anstey & Tony Peck -v- Menorca CC at Menorca CC in 1996
38* Charlie Lyons & Ron Morgan -v-Management Services at Northcroft in 1987
38 - Sat Singh & Alan Last -v- Skolars at Elmdon Road in 1993

Opener or tailender
As we know Alan Last has been "building platforms" for the team this season in his role as Doms Sunday opener
However he has also been involved in the three highest 10th wicket partnerships. Is he more suited to 1 or 11!!!
45 - Alan Last & Tom Hickin -v- Sportsman CC at Bromsgrove CC in 2009
39 - Tony Peck & Alan Last -v- Co-op at Barrows Lane in 1997
38 - Justin Anstey & Alan Last -v- Sporting Alfas CC at Columbus Oval in 2007

Hodgy
As well as being the highest individual score by a Dom, John's score of 173 means he is the first Dom to score two centuries in a season.

43 ...and counting
43 players used so far this season with more to come this week.
Talking of new players we have a number of tour virgins this week so the President and Chairman are going to be kept busy. Mind you one of the players is a woman so that will be a novelty for them
Tour virgins:-
Rick Adie
Kath Adie
Rob Rolls
John Hodgson
Sam Hickingbotham

this is all..
very good but how have the Doms faired on return for a tour - do will normally win the first match back??
The day after the night before
Team interaction - like it!
Many tours, especially those abroad, have taken place right at the end of a season meaning that the first game back takes place six months later. In 2006 we actually played three games 'after tours' that season!
Overall we have won 9 lost 13 and drawn 1 with a couple of games abandoned.
Our best winning sequence is 3 and losing is 4. Our last three were Win, Draw, Lose
Anyway admin the answer to your question is no we do not normally win our first game back - and what has happened to old helmet head!

great..
stats, but as you say it shows how the wickets we now bowl/bat on have changed significantly from past years. As is the quality of the opposition.
